Why oh why have the last two days been so beautiful in Oxford?
It makes packing reeeeal tough.
The sun is shining and it's warm, like summer warm.
Just last week was pretty cold, and the nice weather comes out as we are preparing to leave?
The autumn trees and the gorgeous ivy are showing their lovely faces...
and we are indoors packing boxes.
Well, I'm actually indoors playing on the computer and listening to the neighborhood kids run and play outside.
One just yelled "Muuuuuuum I'm not so keen to come in yet" Love it.
The ice cream man just came through the hood too.
We've never gone running for one since we've lived here, but that doesn't mean I haven't been tempted.
Did you used to do that as a kid? Grab some money and run.
Christ Church College Chapel just rang in 4 o'clock.
These are a few of the many sights and sounds of Oxford that will be missed as we move back to New York.
Just two more nights in our house here before we couch surf in New York.
We are sad to say our goodbyes, excited for our hugs hello, and so thankful for friends all over the world.
Next time, from Manhattan.
Until then...

Let there be "Barn Light Electric"

When I read Two Ellie's post about a giveaway, you know I jumped on it.
I was so pleased to see it was Barn Light Electric sponsoring the fantastic giveaway!
With a move in a week, we hope to soon have a space that will need some lighting.
As I searched through their inventory, I immediately spotted a few options that I would LOVE to have in our future home.
I have these pictures saved in my kitchen inspiration files for one day.

Do you spy a common theme? Pendant lights and sconces!
I have always loved the industrial touch these bring to these more trasitional spaces.
So take a look at these beauties from Barn Light Electric.

I can imagine the many possibilities with these beauties. Can't you?
Then there are these, which I can see outside on a deck or at the back door.

The best part? Barn Light Electric are giving away $500 or $1000 gift cards to spend as you please.
Go enter if you would like, or you can just cross your fingers for me:)

The Getaway Car and Decisions

One of my favorite wedding shots of all time is the getaway car shot.
It's classic and it's that last shot of the night.
Everyone in my family seems to have one, although I don't have copies of them all.

So when our photographers left before we did, it was the first thing I thought about.
"I won't have a getaway car shot"
But I embraced it and just looked around the beautiful Divinity School.
You win some, you lose some:)
And really, I was fine knowing that we had this picture...
So when two of my beautiful friends, Holly and Meg came running after us with a camera,
I was so over the moon that we would have our own getaway shot to add to the family photos!
Speaking of a getaway.
We may not of have a plan or a permanent home when we left our wedding...
but just this week we have decided to pack our bags and return to New York in a few days.
We still don't have a plan or a permanent physical home, yet.
But home really is where the heart is and we are ready for our next adventure in life.
We look back on this year and feel lucky to have many incredible memories
and we are now going forward with some lifelong friends and experiences!

Hope you had a great weekend!

August 6th was such a fantastic day.
Our amazing friends and family traveled near and far to be with us and celebrate.
